Corner of old CMS Mission compound that stretched from here to the ST Thomas Church and back to what is now Thapar Nager. Gurudwara Road starts here. The farm land that was the mission compound is now jammed full of small residential flats with narrow lanes. This was developed in the 50s-60s when mission proprty was sold away.

This general area had Jai Hind, Chrystal Dairey, Kweens, Chandra Medical Store and, of course Jgat Cinema (known for 1/2 price movies, a boon for us college students. Slightly lower , there was Sweets Corner ( for chaat) & Guru Nanak book Depot. I attended Jagdeesh Sharan school for about two years before going to GIC. All good memories. Many friends were made and still kept in touch with.

I disagree with above description. This bungalow was owned by the Devalal family, we lived next door at 148 in the 40's & 50's. In 2003, during a visit, I saw the name plate still on thr gate. The Devalals were next door family friens to us.
